The Atlantic Rugby Conference is proud to announce Zachary Ahlin as the league’s first-ever administrator, guiding the newly formed conference into its inaugural fall season.
Zach brings a deep passion for the sport and years of experience as a player, coach, and administrator. His rugby journey began in high school and local club play, continued through collegiate stints at Wheeling University and Fairfield University, and later evolved into coaching at the collegiate level. From 2021 to 2023, Zach served as head coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology, helping develop the next generation of players. He remains active in the sport, currently playing with the Syracuse Chargers in Senior Club Men’s Division III.
Outside of rugby, Zach has built a professional career in higher education. He currently serves as Assistant Director of Admissions at the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Fairfield University.
As the Atlantic Rugby Conference launches its first season this fall, Zach will lead the effort to shape the conference’s identity, support the development of its student-athletes, and ensure a high standard of competition. The conference proudly includes six strong programs: Belmont Abbey College, Kutztown University, St. Bonaventure University, Queens University, Walsh University, and Wheeling University.
“I am very excited to be taking on the role of conference administrator for the Atlantic Rugby Conference for the upcoming season,” said Ahlin. “Having been around college rugby as a player and a coach, I look forward to seeing the growth in level of competition and talent that the players and coaches will certainly provide.”
With Zach’s leadership and the energy of a first season, the Atlantic Rugby Conference is poised to make an immediate impact in the collegiate rugby landscape.
